Halloween

We love another reason to fit in some fun for Halloween!

The pumpkin carving tradition is going strong!
The boys even upgraded a bit this year using the Dremel!

A porg (Star Wars) and two scary faces this year!

Candy corn nails!

No pics of the yard...only got a video (oops) but these kids loved decorating again this year.
We got a few new spiders (some huge) and more cobwebs.
They received quite the compliment as some families took pictures in our yard with the decor!

They decided not to trick or treat this year but we did find these masks unexpectedly when fall consignment shopping. They were a huge hit as they passed out candy!

Happy Halloween!

October Bits N Pieces

Crochet and Bake Sale

Lorelei worked on crochet projects and made baked goods in anticipation of the community garage sale weekend. We decided to go ahead and have a small garage sale as well!

Robot Happiness

A wonderful surprise on a library visit one day - a library robot! Makin was beyond excited!

Fun-day Friday Bliss

Lake time + Chic-fil-A + Books = Fun Friday Indeed!

Fall At The Star

Some treats and football with an unexpected fall photo shoot opportunity!

Glass Blowing Field Trip

I've had this field trip on my wishlist for a couple of years now. Makin and I learned a lot about glass during history one year and I discovered this place only to find it wasn't having classes due to Covid at the time. We finally made it happen and as I looked at the classes offered the kids immediately loved the glass pumpkin option. (It is a different item each month.) I looked into some other activities in the area as well and we had an amazing day.

(Left) Morning Coffee/treats to kick off our day

Peace Circle - statues commemorating a moment in time when Sam Houston met with chiefs and captains of the Native American tribes to pursue a treaty of peace and friendship.

Grapevine is well known for its railroad - model trains

Seeing a windmill at work.

Checking out a cotton gin.

Ringing a school bell.

Checking out a type of printing press.

Amazing museum filled with Grapevine history!

Biggest. Windchime. Ever.

Auntie Di!

She loved getting to watch the kids make their glass pumpkins!

Pumpkin Pie Concrete for the win! Yum!

Finished Pumpkins!

Smart Conference

Brad spent one Saturday at the Ramsy Conference and loved it!

The Pumpkin Patch

Pumpkins, corn maze, and corn on the cob!

Lorelei's First Communion

Our church offered a 6-week class learning about communion, which Lorelei took this fall. Although it is an LCMS church, they do a few things differently than the way we grew up and this is one of them! We were excited to celebrate this milestone with her. We celebrated with lunch out of her choosing after church that day.

The Mysterious Benedict Society

Lorelei and Makin read this book series and our family enjoyed watching the series based on the book. The next fall season has been much anticipated for upcoming movie nights!
