We haven't done much garage sale-ing in years but we decided to take it up for some of our summer family fun on a few Saturday mornings.

Keepin' Cool In The Pool
Surviving the summer in Texas means you are either in the house with the ac or in the pool! July meant most every day was over 100 degrees...no need to even check the weather! (It's kinda better if you just don't see it.)
Lorelei had her own version of swim lessons with Mia, a little sister of a friend. She loved preparing to teach her and help her be brave! |
When we aren't swimming it's mostly a quiet house while the kids are reading, listening to audiobooks, crocheting, or building Legos, usually a mix.
This summer Makin discovered he could look up some Lego directions online and has been finding lots of sets to create using Legos we found at a garage sale years ago. |

These boys love a good puzzle! |
Ice Cream Sandwich shop we just had to give a try! Yummy!
Lexi brought over her shaved ice machine! |
Couldn't resist a hula snack! |
We love when they have special summer movies for $1.50! This year we chose to go to Peter Rabbit 2!
Kid's first time to see this classic! |
Brad and I are from what some refer to as "The Oregon Trail Generation" so it's no surprise I got all excited as we discovered we could fit in an Oregon Trail field trip into our upcoming Nebraska visit. Naturally, we prepared the kids in the best way possible...by playing THE original Oregon Trail game. They had TONS of fun and the nostalgia was awesome. Don't worry, we also found some great Oregon Trail books available from the library to go along with our field trip!
Celebrating 40
Brad and I enjoyed a night out to celebrate Amanda's 40th Birthday! We celebrated with yummy food and great music!
Watermelon Day
Actually celebrated on National Watermelon Day this year!
National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day
National fill-in-the-blank days seem to be multiplying like rabbits, but when a special nearby cookie shop offers free chocolate chip cookies, you celebrate!
