Nebraska Visit

We enjoyed heading north to visit Brad's family.

We took a bit of a different route than usual through Kansas and discovered a surprise stop we couldn't resist. I grew up singing many songs in the car with my family, but the ONLY song my dad ever sang was "Home Home On The Range". Just had to check out this location, which was where Dr. Brewster M. Higley wrote the words to that song.

We found another surprise shortly after getting into Nebraska...
he absolutely only did this for his mother.

"It's not even spelled right."

A Nebraska must.

Stocking up on fireworks before heading to the farm. So excited!

So thankful for cousin time with Brooklyn!
These two enjoy playing pool each summer.
They also jumped on the trampoline and other great activities!

The town has a "yarn bomb" going on this summer so we had to check out some of the creations.

Car bowl craft sale.
They didn't sell much but we had beautiful weather and
it was fun for Brad to see people he hadn't seen in many years.

Grandma with most of her grandkids.
Missed seeing Karter this visit!

Loved getting to visit with long-time friend, Dennis, and his girls.

Lorelei had a great time hanging out with Dennis' daughters!
So fun seeing them together.

Brad and Makin enjoying golf with Shaun, Sarah and Brooklyn.

A fun prank on Grandma - googly eyes on everything inside her refrigerator.

Love all the gator time!

Going old-school with Sega!

Love corn hole at Grandma and Grandpa's place.

Farm Fireworks make him so happy.

Fireworks and cousin time.

Lots of gator time!
(One gator adventure this year included a short walk home because they ran out of gas!
I'm sure they would like to add to their defense that the gauge was broken!)

Golf date!

One last picture on the farm.
Grandma and Grandpa are moving into town so our visits will look a bit different next summer.
Excited to see their new place when it is all finished!

We headed to eastern Nebraska for a couple of days on our way home.

We wanted to find this gem and visit the bookstore so the kids saw a bit of the UNL campus.

We had to take them to the stadium too of course!
These boys can't wait to football season to begin!

I wanted to get this pic because we have one like this from our early married years.
I also can't believe I forgot which side we needed to stand on. Ooof.

Ok I couldn't resist throwing this in...

How It Started

How It's Going

We were so excited to get to visit with our friends, the Smiths! We had a gorgeous day evening to enjoy supper together out on the patio at Leadbelly.

Next we headed to watch fireworks - look forward to seeing that on July 4th post! :)
