School Happenings

Lorelei and I watched the movie Lincoln as a history expansion activity..
Makin opted out of this one but I'll have him watch before he graduates!

While she has more time on Tuesdays (no HOPE Prep while elbow heals),
she is making sure to bake items on her Home Economics list before Personal Finance class.
The class definitely enjoys the treats!

Another history movie follow up...which was deemed the worst movie they have ever seen!
I can't blame them...the plot is terrible, but the historical elements were good to see.

No, we don't only school watching movies and shows. ;)
But we are on a roll!
It was a fun chance to showcase this time in America and get them to try one of my favorite childhood shows! Everyone really enjoyed and we watched many more than expected.

A little add-on to personal finance class.

10 our of 10 dogs agree they love their humans being homeschooled!

Makin decided the comfy chair is a great place to do school work.

Makin smiling for the camera even though he was actually the opposite of thrilled
to be working through writing a poem.

Interviewing Papa about farming and the government
for a history portfolio assignment.

"You expect excellence...which is not a good thing...for my sanity."

An excellent history read aloud.

So many good history add-ons through film!

Yep, still loves his human being homescooled.
I think she was taking a test in this one.

We love Professor Larry, who we watch a lecture from each history chapter.
This one surprised us as he is usaully in a suit and definitely not a 50s diner set up!
Was a fun change and of course was for this decade in American History!

More film add ons - some TV shows from that era. I loved Leave It To Beaver (I had never seen)
but we didn't love Happy Days as much.

Rewinding back to earlier history lessons because I forgot to get history portfolio pics earlier in the year.
They do a portfolio page for each chapter. Sharing a few favorites...
