The Stars and Stripes Spirit

Well, I cannot find my box of July 4th decorations...in somebody's closet somewhere but not worth digging out more than I have already attempted. SO its a minimally decorated holiday this time around, but we did get a wind sock from my mom that Lorelei loves, and we have done a few things the last few days, including the fireworks papers (much better when they are older so will save that again in a few years) and then a star chain, which was fun working on patterns with Lorelei while making it as well as "threading" into the holes. Guess I will have a break for a while with projects as the pumpkins are already invading the aisles at Hobby Lobby. :) Looking forward to a fun long weekend with Heather visiting, lots of shopping and time away from the kids (kids, I love you but Mommy needs a break), and of course a fun celebration with brats, friends and fireworks. We'll see how Mr. Makin reacts! Where do you take a screaming baby during fireworks anyway? :) Also trying not to be sad thinking of our past usual Mt. Trashmore party and missing our VA friends!
