April Fun

April has been a total whirlwind! I'm definitely in survival mode, which I really don't like but it is just the way this spring has become... Here is some of what we have been up to.

Lion King
Our April field trip was to see Lion King Jr.

Texas Tulips
We loved getting to pick some Texas Tulips!

We each got to pick two tulips...I thought it wouldn't really look great when we got our hodgepodge of colors home, but actually fell in love with it! Makin helped with the idea of putting the leaves in to make it look fuller in our makeshift vase.

Just had to laugh at myself...bring fancy camera to tulips...
forget to make sure it has a memory card?

Cup Stacking
Cup stacking became the rage for a few weeks as it was another fun fundraiser for the school. I love that it has a timer so they can see their individual improvements. Can you guess who is the slowest cup stacker in the family? ;)

Butterflies
Our tiny caterpillars arrived mid-March and we loved getting to watch them grow. It had been three years since our last batch and it was interesting to see what the kids took notes of this time now that they are older.

One of our chrysalides fell so we propped it up with a stick - the butterfly turned out fine!

One home day we watched the remaining chrysalides carefully and got to see two emerge!

We had to release them more quickly than we would have liked because two of them decided to mate young!
Alex and Amelia were here for the send off.

GCA Golf Scramble
Brad worked hard to put on the second GCA golf scramble and it was a success. We had the same turn out as last year, so hoping for a bigger turn out next year! Overall it was a great time for community and Brad also really enjoys the chance to get to compete with Makin. Brittany and her dad were the other two on their team, so Makin enjoyed having Charlie along while they golfed. I stayed around the clubhouse and bake sale, which Lorelei wanted to organize again this year. (They even increased their sales from last year, which really surprised me!)

Jaedynn and Lorelei love making a colorful sign.

Packaging up baked goods.

The Stahl boys purchasing mulligans and string.

One example of how the scramble raises money.
This year Brad ordered stickers for the golf cart sponsors and loved how they turned out!

Our handsome golfer.

Bake sale crew - Jaedynn, Savannah, Lorelei, Julia and Sophia

So thankful for these boy's friendship.
Hoping these are the first of many golf memories in the future!

Delicious meal served after a day of golf. Loved the chance to visit with everyone after.

Hughes Crew In Waco
We met up with Mary, Morgan and Kyle in Waco. Sure do miss seeing these guys more often!

Easter Day
The kids searched for their baskets and ate plenty of sugar. We cooked breakfast and made resurrection rolls again this year. We also had fun throughout the day playing games.

Bluebonnets

I was sort-of devastated we didn't get our day trip to Ennis this year but it just wasn't working out with our schedule. Thankfully we had a field right here in Little Elm so we did head there for a fast photo op for this year...I didn't get many I liked (I need to remember early morning photo shoots are not our thing), but I guess some years are like that. :)
