Bits And Pieces

New Year

This year we had a festive night at home with our home-made Red Lobster meal, special drinks, and watching the fireworks from New Zealand and London before a fairly normal bedtime.

Chill Time

We had a low-key winter break. Lots of games and some read-alouds.

Outdoor Time

Makin loved flying his drone and getting some fun shots.

The kids and I ventured to a local state park for a walk on one of the nice-weather days.

This kid likes gadgets and gizmos a plenty. ;) He also got an all-terrain stunt remote car for Christmas and has enjoyed taking it on some different terrains.

Bike

Makin's bike was missing two small parts, so he had to wait for them to come in the mail about two weeks later to enjoy his Christmas gift. Brad has had his nose to the grindstone for weeks, so Makin ended up putting it together himself. It was great to see him stick to the job!

Movie Night

Loved this pic at our family movie night. Brad picked Dude Perfect and AFV and it was so nice to have some laughs.

Quarantine

Yep, we had to quarantine! We can say we have "been there and done that" to getting over the dreaded Covid. Brad tested positive after he and I both felt we were almost ending the "cold" we both had. Brad did have some back pain, which we later realized is a symptom, but we just chalked it up to a pinched nerve. Thankfully we hadn't seen many people. Brad seems to have gotten it at work. I didn't get tested but am sure I caught it from him. The kids had the sniffles/colds so we aren't sure about them. This did mean Lorelei had to be virtual for school. I'm thankful she is responsible and this didn't phase us terribly. Upper school even went virtual part of the time, which was actually nice for us because the teachers let them get off the screen more than if she stayed watching the live class. I learned to navigate online ordering at two grocery stores. What a blessing they have all of this in place.

When your husbands are crazy busy with work during quarantine
you may need a wine zoom call...

Our sweet neighbor got 3 way walkie talkies so the kids could talk.

Although they still preferred the 6 ft theory? ;)

We were so glad when our extra-long quarantine (school asked for 10 days past onset of symptoms + 10 days) was done!!

Walks

We are loving having a trail near the house and had some friends join us for walks a couple of nice days.
