February Fun

Dog Sitting

Lorelei has somewhat gotten started with her pet sitting business and loved watching Sammy over a long weekend!

Back To the Future Movies

It was fun to try out this series! The kids loved it!

Snow!

We had quite the experience with snow and cold this winter! We had inches of snow but the biggest problem was the low temperatures, which apparently Texas is not prepared for. We had rolling blackouts (power on for an hour, off for an hour, etc) for days. Some neighborhoods were without power for days, including some friends, so we even had the kids dream-come-true by having friends spend two nights with us! Bonus we had friend time in the snow too! :) Overall the kids will think it was nothing but fun when they reminisce about it someday! We are thankful that we had power semi consistently and no pipes burst! That was a win as many had it worse!

This bird need warm temps...so we kept Frosty as close to the fire as we could!

Lexi came to play!

Ice marble fun.

For some reason the cold temps caused our garage door not to work, so Makin had to crawl onto the car on multiple occations.

No power? No problem, its still game time!

So glad the kids remembered we had these in the garage! :) Fun time building!

We discovered our front yard has a decent enough hill for sledding! :)

As you can imagine he always got a running start for better sledding. ;)

Valentine's Day

Sweets

Makin was thrilled I found Valentine jelly beans!

Special Box

The school decided to have a Middle School Valentine's box competition and Lorelei went all out getting creative and crafty. After strongly considering an elaborate Winter The Dolphin box, she decided to go with an idea she saw similar to Sydney's (Amanda's daughter) box that incorporated her love of books and Harry Potter! She won "Best in Show"! :)

Valentine's

Makin and I enjoyed some time in the car line playing with the Valentine's he sent to his class. So fun!

Sweet Husband

Brad got this gorgeous flower arrangement for me! Loved having fresh flowers.

Traditions

Somewhere along the way, we started the tradition of a sweet and a DVD as a gift. It makes for a simple Valentine's for this Mama! :) This year they got Onward and a set of Mandie movies (some movies that are based on books L has read).

We also LOVE our chocolate-covered strawberry tradition!

This Valentine's Day had an extra special treat - SNOW! (more on that coming up!)

OM Happenings

Festive Instant Challenge: They had Christmas pipe cleaners and a few other supplies and were asked to build something that could hold the ping pong ball up in the air.

Our group ends up working out on the patio often because Brad and Makin's group is LOUD. ;)

We have had to encorporate zoom quite a bit this year.
This picture is from when we were quarentined.
Proud of the kiddos for making this work!

Creating fireballs.

Makin gets his chance to work on a balsa wood structure.

They made a wrecking ball.

Testing Makin's first structure!

Teamwork on tiles!

Candy Crew creating their extreme weather!

Instant challenge of getting a marble into the square.

Slingshot style take on the marble challenge.

Backdrop day is one of everyone's favorites!

Many more work days to come as we prepare to submit videos of their problem for state in April!
