Summer Oklahoma Visit

Lorelei absolutely loved having 1-1 time on her visit to the Oklahoma farm! Nana even planned a few outings with some children she knows through church and piano and Lorelei loved that as well!

Loving her HP suitcase and blanket.

Helping make cookies.

Little Pet shops still getting some use.

Bells game with Papa.

Art Project

Pool time!

We joined her after a few days and had a short visit as well.

Uncle A.J. is great about playing games. ;)

Nana walked around the lake and Makin tried out fishing.

We got to visit A.J.'s house.

Yummy Dirt!

"Where the wind goes sweepin' down the plain" is very accurate of Oklahoma.
So, we flew kites!

They love that the city pool lets them use a floatie down the slide!

Helping make home-made ice cream!

They discovered an "old relic" - typewriters!
They loved trying them out. So fun.

Thanks for the visit Nana and Papa!

Anniversary Staycation

As it did for so many, Covid 19 greatly changed our travel plans for our anniversary. Since it was a milestone year, we had plans to head to the beach. After hearing that masks were still required at this point, we decided to postpone this trip and are hoping to go next year instead.

Plan B became a staycation after I spent hours trying to come up with a trip we felt was worth the extra vacation money to no avail with the many restrictions around the pandemic.

Plan C came along when Makin told us the night before we were supposed to meet Nana that he was feeling very anxious and didn't want to go. SO, we had an anniversary staycation with one child still here. As you will see we still had fun and we have learned, its a pretty great treat for me not to cook! :)

We tried a new ice cream place near The Star. :)

Makin loved playing some football games.
Mother/Son lunch date between errands.

Date Night In With Friends - loved this game!
Didn't get many pics including failing to take a picture of our S'mores Bar!

Love us some Putt Putt!

Games at home.

Melting Pot on our anniversary.
Autumn watched Makin so we could still go out!

15 years!

Lunch out at Hula Hut with drinks and music that made us feel slightly like we were on a vacation! :)

Kicking Off Summer

First Day
Our first day of summer break was spent on a Summer Scavenger Hunt as well and time at the lake. I didn't realize that the lake beach had opened back up, but we learned it the day before. After a quick stop off for a short while to play in the sand, the kids talked me into going back because they were having so much fun and were dying to get in the water.

Selfie Scavenger Hunt

Lego Building
Makin followed instructions to build two lego guitars.

Graduation Parade
Another unique moment brought to you by Covid 19. I can see it now...Lorelei, what did you learn during the Covid 19 crisis...how to perfect my bubble lettering!

Candy to throw to the graduates.

Friends
When I asked the kids to help make a Covid-friendly summer list their top request was PLAYDATES! Most of our friends are being social so it has been a top priority to book up time for friend fun!

Julia and Makin drawing a place to shoot darts.

Lexi and Lor doing pedicures.

Lexi joined us for a bike ride.

Natalie and Lorelei

Caleb, Isaac and Makin playing a special version of Uno.

Lexi and the tent.

Waterslide fun with Charlie.

Lorelei and Savannah

Makin, Asher and J.J.

Lorelei and Maddie

Making a movie with Lexi, which involved turning stuffed animals into puppets.

Lake Time
The lake has been extra busy because so many pools are closed! We try to get there at 8 am and by 10 it is too crowded for our taste.

Mini-Golf Outing
We enjoyed a Sunday morning playing some putt putt. Both Brad and Lorelei got a hole-in-one!

Brad's hole-in-one. Can you believe that?!

The Stream
We have enjoyed several trips back to the stream. Once it was after quite a bit of rain and the kids couldn't resist a swim.

Game Time
Another go-to is always games. :) I was really proud of Lorelei for trying chess and Makin is thrilled to have another chess player in the family.

Horseback
Because Lorelei's horseback spring lessons got cut a bit short, we fit in another lesson. I don't really love going when it gets so hot! Makin had been wanting to take as well, so he had his initiation lesson so that he can take as we decide works for him.

Brad's Birthday
Brad had a birthday full of some of his favorite things. He golfed with his cousin Tim in the morning, napped, watched his choice of a movie (at home in his office bc no theater options), played the Wii as a family and then finished out the day watching AFV as a family. Of course, his favorite foods were thrown in, including cake! :)
