Halloween

We had another fun-filled Halloween this year! Love the special happiness that holidays bring!

"Oh it already smells like Halloween."

Can you tell who was the messiest pumpkin carver?

Cozy Fire and Festive Movie Choice for Movie Night

Character Day at HOPE Prep

Nana enjoyed getting to see the decorating process!
(When she wasn't working on the puzzle. ;))

Thankful for this amazing lady who taught me to embrace the joy of holiday fun!

These two love handing out candy!
This year was a lower crowd because it was cold (highs in the 50s) for Texans.

Packed up our front porch and then all that was left was to finish up the puzzle!

We did it!

Mom gifted me these years ago and they are from the 90s so they are still going strong!
She seemed to enjoy seeing this decoration throwback that she used to put up in her house!

Happy Halloween!

Fall Fun

Pumpkin Season Begins

It was still plenty warm here on the first day of fall, so we decided that called for an Andy's pumpkin pie concrete to celebrate the new season! Note: Makin stuck with his Oreo shake...we couldn't convince him to get pumpkin pie!

Halloween Prep

Shortly after birthday celebrations wind down these two start to focus on Halloween. They have a budget to work with and decided to add a fog machine to the yard this year. Thankfully we found one on fb marketplace and were thrilled with the deal!

ManeGait

Lorelei absolutely loves volunteering at ManeGait and would be there every day if she could. She worked at the horse show again this year and loved getting the horses prepared for the event, as well as horse-leading for her favorite student. She and Brad attended the volunteer appreciation dinner, where she was given the Youth Volunteer of the Year award. We were SO proud of her and loved hearing all the kind things the people she works with had to say. She was SO honored to be given that award.

Donut Date/Clothes Shopping

This is becoming our twice-a-year tradition! Donuts followed by consignment clothes shopping.

Adventure Saturday

We headed to another small town for a day trip adventure!

Saloon turned museum!

The arrow on the photo above the kids is pointing at the building we at lunch in. :)

Next stop, golf!
This is the face of a kid excited the course sells used golf balls that he loves.

Cat at the Course!

Yep, packed her knitting to do in the cart while the boys golf

Memorable Moment...this is much steeper than it looks in this picture and we went down it without touching the break because I thought that is what the lady told me to do! Yep, it was basically a roller coaster thrill ride down that thing.

Couldn't resist catching the turtles in the pond at Turtle Hill Golf Course!

Book Club

I'm loving meeting up with a friend and going through another book Adventuring Together most weeks. It's such a treat for both of us on Mondays while Lorelei is at HOPE Prep!

Horseback

Lorelei is back to enjoying horseback twice a month!

Accidental Day Off

What do you do when your 13-year-old forgets to pack his backpack on Whirlwind Wednesday? Apparently, give him the option to drive home and get it or do the work later that week and have a morning off...he chose the morning off. Thankful for beautiful weather and time together!

Couldn't resist throwing in a little art/Texas history!

Fall Sale

The kids had what is becoming their biannual sale during the community's garage sale weekend. They sold their hand-made items as well as baked goods. Proud of our entrepreneurs!

Shower Weekend

I headed up to Omaha/Lincoln for the weekend and enjoyed celebrating Tyler and Alea's baby!  I was treated to an extra special weekend by Dan and Michelle and it was such great friend time. So thankful!

Left: Dan is an artist! We took a visit to downtown Lincoln so I could check out his art display.

Wine Tasting!

So great to get outside and see tiny glimpses of fall even though it was cloudy.

Thankful for these two special ladies!
Can't wait to meet Baby Pflueger!

Field Trip Day

It will come as no surprise that when a mom from our homeschool group planned a field trip in Fort Worth, I decided to make it a double field trip day!

Trip 1: The Stockyards

Trip 2: The Bureau of Engraving and Printing

Such a fabulous day!

Loved our tour guide, who was a retired history teacher!

Longhorn cattle walking the street.

They conquered the cowpen maze!

We were not allowed to bring any cameras into the bureau,
so this is all we have to remember that trip!
It was SO amazing to see all the work that goes into the making of our country's bills!
Check if your bill has a tiny FW on it and it was made here in Fort Worth!

Ladies Who Lunch

I'm so thankful for this sweet friend and that she will meet up with me to catch up on life once a month (ish)!

Jerry and Joyce

We are so thankful our kiddos are getting to know our friends Jerry and Joyce a bit better these days. Joyce asked if Lorelei wanted to earn any money several months ago and Jerry and Joyce have had Lorelei and Makin over several times to give them a chance to earn some money. What a blessing these two are! In October the kids helped paint and put together these trees that J and J will give out to people. The kids have their own to give out as well.

Cousin Weekend

The Nebraska cousins came to Texas! Brad and Tim were so excited Karl and Greg decided to make the trip to visit over a long weekend. They had an amazing weekend filled with football, golf,  tours, and some great food! One big highlight was Karl getting a hole-in-one! What a weekend!

Lego Club

This guy doesn't build with Lego a lot these days, but I'm thankful for Legoclub to keep him creating just a bit more. This month he finished up a project he started a while back which was a Lego vault to store his money. The extensive security system included a color-sensor key that unlocked a keypad that required the right number combination in order to open the vault.

Nana's Visit

Nana came for a fall visit this year! We had some chilly weather so it turned out to be a great year to have a puzzle going! (Although we were all puzzled out by the end!)

We also enjoyed the Husker football game and fall football food to go with it!

We fit in Sunday brunch after church as well.

More of Nana's visit will be included in the Halloween post. :)
