May Moments

Enjoying The Great Outdoors

We love our outdoor time and I'm always so excited when the weather is gorgeous and we can fit in some special moments before the heat kicks in!

I'd like to title these two photos: Life With Boys

Homemade Pizza Comeback

We perfected our favorite pizza crust many years ago but then decided it wasn't as cost-effective as we thought to make our own...now we are back to making our own however often we feel like it...primarily motivated by the fact that we have basil growing in our backyard! YUM.

Mother's Day/Medieval Festival (ish)

We had the medieval festival on our bucket list and decide that Mother's Day would be a great day to spend time with each other on this little day trip...with only a 58% chance of rain and "open rain or shine" we decided it would be worth it go and likely we could endure a bit of rain... well it turns out we had much more than a bit...and "rain or shine" does not include most of the shows...which is much of what we were looking forward to! We still enjoyed what we fit in...but we absolutely hope to go back another year and catch all those shows we were excited to see!

People of the Renaissance surely drank their ale in the morning right?

Archery was one of the activities on their wishlist!

Crepes were on mine!

We enjoyed the parade.

A few moments it wasn't raining. :)
Waiting for a show to start.
Pretzel guy knows where to find the right people!

Cirque De Sewer Show

Please note the mud. :)
And yes of course 3 out of 4 Stahls were still in flip flops!
We decided to call it a day and head home. :)

Rainy Mother's Day meant a family game when we got home. :)

Play Like Summer

We are diving into our summer fun!

3D Printing Progress

Makin has had this project going on and off since the fall. He is working on a way to break his toe-walking habit and decided to use Shaper 3D to get an item printed for his project. He has been waiting for this printing area to open at the new library and was excited to finally print! He has to make some tweaks and then we will be headed back.

Lorelei's Oklahoma Visit

Lorelei enjoyed a visit to the panhandle again this year!
Some of her favorites from the visit include:
lots of fun books and reading time, the horses, the yummy meals, helping Nana prepare yummy food in the kitchen, earning money for horse camp (sorting nuts and bolts and belts and helping organize kitchen cabinets), library visits, lake walk and Mazzios with Uncle A.J., going to Coco's house, trying Black Walnut ice cream and loving it, going to see the live-action The Little Mermaid in 3D

OKC Visit

We met up in OKC to get Lorelei after her week at Nana and Papa's place. We enjoyed a visit with Christi, Kelly, and Sheaden as well as a short stay at Aunt Heather's place. We loved our patio time Sunday evening. Heather found a project she was willing to pay the kids to do at her house and they were both elated for a chance to earn some money.

Don't worry, Lou got her goldfish. ;)

(Taking this moment to assure you, it's a Pirouette Cookie..)

My fav mug at Heather's.

Working hard!

So dirty they just needed a spray-down!

Dive Into The Hive Field Trip

As I was looking into some area attractions online, I stumbled upon a farm that had field trip options I thought we would enjoy. I quickly threw the idea up on our homeschool group's Facebook page and had enough interest that we were able to get a group together to enjoy the Dive Into The Hive field trip! It was amazing and we learned so much! We even got to enjoy some close-up alpaca moments (including some babies!) as we walked through the farm to learn more about bees. They were so cute!

Teaching us all about beekeeping and bees!

Learning about the plants the bees would like.

Right!?
They walked right up to say hello!

The hives!

Learning how they get the honey out.

The kid's favorite part - honey tasting!
