OM Florida Trip Part 1

Yes indeed this summer has been a whirlwind so far! We headed back to Florida to compete at OM World Finals! Going on this adventure with friends was SO special!

Pre Tournament Fun

We shared a condo with the Scott family which included an awesome pool area (and a small pool at the condo) and a putt-putt course. We arrived one day before the tournament which gave us time for some fun and then also a chance to register the evening before so that it was off the list for competition day.

The kids swapped rooms halfway through the stay,
but either way had so much fun staying with friends!

Such a fun Harry Potter room!

Pool fun!

Putt-putt!

Registration is done!

Day 1
Performance day. We were thankful for this as some teams had this the second day. The team did a GREAT job! It was one of their best performances and you could really tell they turned up the charm being in front of the live audience and judges.

Their first chance to pin trade, waiting to get into opening ceremonies.
The Texas OM asked that our teams wear cowboy hats so we were easier to find. They also decorate their hats. While this was pretty fun, its also an extra item to keep track of!
The boy's got lots of compliments on their Lego hats.

Pin trading room.
The kids absolutily loved it.

Competing on the third floor means you have to problem solve just to get your props where you need them! Some took the elevator and a few of us came this way to speed things up.

Rubber Bands!

Time!

Our amazing group!!!

Sticky notes from the judges are always fun to read.

Competition day was on our 16th anniversary. :)
Brittany and Charlie offered to keep the kids so we could still go out for a date night.

Day 2
This was the day they competed in the Spontaneous. This was less stressful as it only took up 2-3 hours of our day prepping and competing. This meant they spent much of the day pin trading and watching some other teams perform. The awards ceremony was that evening and it was a lot of fun, but also a bit disappointing as we had hoped to place in the top ten but did not. They did their best and we are proud of them!

Prepping for the Spontaneous.
Brad is great with this so we let him take the lead.

Eating out before closing ceremonies.

Getting on the big screen!
