February Fun

When I saw some warmer weather days in the forecast, I had to plan some outdoor fun! Overall we have had quite a mild-weather February, which suits us just fine!

Lake Time

We organized a meet-up at the lake with some friends.

Wayback Barn

We discovered an awesome new location for some "outdoor recess" fun.

Taxi Mom

This year I feel I'm often wearing my taxi driver hat and decided to take a picture of us in the car to note this chapter.

All The Furry Friends

Lorelei loves time with the horses at horseback but also sneaks in some dog and cat time too!

Bake Sale

Lorelei organized a bake sale fundraiser to fund the film project she is working on with friends.

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day always includes extra yummy treats!

Gimmie That Sunshine

Makin and I snuck in a walk on a sunny day. He had this playground entirely to himself!

Field Trip Friday

We took an extra-faraway field trip this month! On the agenda: Fabled Bookstore, Texas Rangers Museum, The Silos. It was an awesome day!

Walking through the wardrobe into the children's section.
(This is amazing for us Chronicles of Narnia fans!)

Do you spy the dragon?

Makin and I read an excerpt from this in our Texas History book so it was one of our favs.
The Texas Rangers always have to address whatever problems Texas needs them for...at this point in history people were unhappy the open range was closing, so they would cut the barbed wire fences that the ranchers put up.

A bit blurry but loved that they could see how heavy some of the guns the rangers carried were!

Chillin' at one of my happy places - The Silos!

Nothing quite like soccer in flip-flops. :)

So thankful these friends were up for a Friday adventure with us!

Breakfast Date

Can you tell Brad and I are working harder on our goal of more dates? ;) Delicious Saturday morning breakfast date!

One Bowl

When you ask a teenage boy not to have more than one bowl of cereal...

Mud Treatment

No need to pay for those fancy mud treatments at the spa... ;)

Lego Club

This month Makin decided to make a Nerf target that cheered when you hit it and then made cricket noises when you missed. It was a big hit!

Pic a friend captured.
In the last 30 min of Lego club the students take turns presenting their creations to their table.

Dog Sitting

Lorelei had a dog-sitting gig for the weekend  - living her dream!

Waiting for their person to be finished getting ready for church.

She got in some positive reinforcement training time!

PE Turned Park Time

Our homeschool PE class got unexpectedly canceled due to a miscommunication about the gym being available...so we just headed to the nearest park with most of the class! Makin talked me into getting his flag football gear and they played football as well as several other games. Always love when the kiddos have to collaborate on these things themselves! So thankful it was beautiful weather!
