February's Fun

Ice Ice Baby ;)

We had some ice days and we were very glad we didn't have to leave the house! Makin was ready to get outside after a few days and enjoyed hitting the ice with his sword.

Fill the crannies and the nooks...

Ortho Progress

Makin has had an expander since early December. This is the first step we needed to take in order for him to have an upcoming surgery needed due to his cleft lip and palate. Getting the expanders has been quite a process in and of itself. Yes, expanders plural...meaning he is now on his second one. This picture was after he had the second expander put in so he could breathe a sigh of relief and have some treats. (Ortho days are stressful!) He has also learned it works better if he has an audiobook to listen to on the drive to distract him from the anxiety of all things ortho! We will find out soon-ish when he will be ready for his upcoming surgery as this hinges on the expanders to prepare his palate. Right now the process is taking longer than I expected so would appreciate prayers!

Oklahoma Visit

I took a trip up to the Oklahoma City area over a long weekend. First, I enjoyed a visit with Christi, including a tour of the campus where she and Kelly now work.

Then I headed to Heather's house for a visit with Mom and Heather. We enjoyed a chance to reminisce about some memories with Grandma as well as enjoyed some time at a local craft fair.

Valentine's Day

Allllll about the chocolate. ;)

Fun Read Aloud

This was an accidental find while looking into books from the local library and turned out to be a fun read-aloud that fit well with February!

Field Trippin - Institute Creation Research (ICR) Discovery Center

I saw a local homeschooling mom post about this center having homeschool days and we decided this would be a great field trip this year! It was absolutely awesome to get to see all the creation evidence and it is very well done.

Talking paintings of creation scientists!

Noah's Ark Model

One section portrays a bit of what the ark was like.

Amazing sand.

Evidence of the Ice Age

Phenomenal presentation from a scientist showing fossils including a dinosaur egg!

Soaking Up Sunshine

I'm so thankful for the sporadic warm sunny days that help me get through winter!

Lego Club

Makin loved coming up with a creative Lego to share at Lego Club.

Stargazing

Warm winter evenings are perfect for stargazing. :)
