The Group Reunion Weekend

I was blessed to have a wonderful group of friends in High School. We were a group of various ages and we enjoyed time in school (Can you say band and yearbook geeks?!) and outside of school having get-togethers for extra social time. (No drinking included! Sadly rare for small-town USA!) While I could care less to see most of my classmates for a HS reunion, I knew it would be a lot of fun to get our group together. It had been about 9 years since our last reunion, so it was definitely over-due. Thankfully Amanda was up for the challenge of helping me organize this idea and we got together in the OKC area Saturday. While the turnout was a bit smaller than expected, the group we had was very appreciative. We even had one friend fly all the way in from Washington! We had a great time catching up on jobs, kids and life in general and had a few laughs reminiscing as well. Thanks so much for all you did to organize this Amanda!

We wanted to treat this weekend like a little mini family vacation. We had planned to stop at Turner Falls on the way up, but it was raining/flooded, so Plan B became the bricktown area. The boys played putt putt golf and were given free games of laser tag and we girls rode the boat down the canal. We topped off the afternoon with a yummy ice cream treat. :)

Then we enjoyed supper out with Aunt Heather and her friend Eddie,
as well as some time with Lou at her apt that evening.

Heather even set up a fun tent for the kids to sleep under in her guest room.

The next day came the big get together!

Some pretty special people. :)

We found a great park/splash pad combo to keep the kids entertained. Makin had lots of various friends to play ball with throughout the visit. Lorelei mostly drew with chalk and paid attention to Lou.
Aunt Heather even took Lou and ALL the kids for a little walk.
I was a total slacker when it came to taking pictures which I don't really understand.
Thankfully Amanda caught this cute moment,
where, after asking permission from John, Makin dumped water on Sydney's head. :)

After the park, we headed to a hotel and my kids loved swimming with Amanda's family and having pizza together. Then Amanda, Greg and I got to stay up late catching up after all the kids got to bed. :)

We headed to the zoo on Sunday before driving home. We took in the sea lion show, sting ray beach and then various critters. One of our favorites being the Galapagos turtles.

So thankful for our weekend with people who make our hearts happy!
