Lorelei At 10 1/2

Time is flying by and what you hear from everyone is, "You are almost as tall as your mother!" You don't seem to mind and can't wait for us to be officially the same height.

You are still an absolute bookworm and cannot get enough reading time. You love all animal books, especially horses, dolphins and dogs. You love the adventures you can go on through books as well as the new things you learn when you read facts. You often teach us the new information you have learned.

You still ask/debate us daily for a dog. You are not above guilt tripping us for this, reminding us of all the dogs that need homes. You have some great moments of proving you are responsible in order to get a dog, which I really enjoy.

You want horseback riding lessons because horses have become a huge interest.

You still have way too much attitude. Possibly even more than ever. Our hope is in a few years you will be a complete delight because it will be all out of your system by then. Right? Right.

You cannot get enough friend time.

You still enjoy art. You did a lot of coloring (the pages with the little details that you color in with fine-point sharpies) during read alouds this winter. You still like lots of bright colors.

You love to plan big ideas. One day you got grounded from reading so you proceeded to plan an entire summer event to raise money for CMA.

Quotable Moments:

"Why does Clearwater Marine Aquarium have a restaurant
right next to it that they recommend that is a SEAFOOD restaurant when they are trying to save the sea life!?"

(Golfing) "You mean I can never swing when people are standing by me!?"

(Me shopping for a coat...) "Get it, it'll make your eyes pop!"

Me: You look like you grew up in a barn eating that way.
Lor: Actually, I would have liked growing up in
a barn.

Me: I used to read babysitters club when I was a kid.
Lor: Really? But it was in black and white right?

We celebrated 10 1/2 with Red Lobster supper and dessert, per L's request.
