Start Of Summer Fun

Our children get to spend their summer with two sets of grandparents who adore them, as well as a few aunts, uncles and cousins thrown in. :) On two farms...many wonderful memories to be made for our four and two year old. I hope looking back on this summer for them, they think of all the amazing times they were able to have on both an Oklahoma and a Nebraska farm. Lots and lots of love for all.

The kids were thrilled to check out a huge rainbow! Saw from one end to the other. :) Lorelei enjoying a little run in the sprinkler, and both kids love playing with the sand on the driveway along with a couple of construction trucks.

Fun with Nana and Uncle A.J. :)

Amanda and Sydney came for a visit! Sydney loved checking the cattle with "Farmer Art" and we gave her a  chance to have some yummy ice cream too! :) So fun getting to catch up with them and see Sydney at this age. The kids get along great!

Tea Party Time! I cannot explain how much Makin loved pouring the tea and drinking it...and he will not like me saying that a few years from now! :)

Nebraska! Much-needed fun times with Grandma and Grandpa. Cooking, reading books, riding the four wheeler and a tractor ride!

Oh the words to describe how much they love this gator... they drove it All. Day. Long. :) They take turns  very well, and get a real kick out of chasing me with it on occasion. :) If the battery runs out of juice one of them will push it with "Makin or Lorelei Power" :)

Lorelei loved the wheat field and the kitties. She cannot get enough of these kitties. We celebrated Brad's birthday with a cookie cake, and Makin helped Grandma mow the lawn.

And we met the two new members to the family! Uncle Shaun (so far he gets 5 stars!) and Brooklyn!

Back to Oklahoma. Brownies in the morning, Mommy and Lorelei date to walk around the lake, Uncle A.J. playing Clifford, making something else in the kitchen, first time helping make home-made ice cream, and trying out a pinterest recipe for sidewalk paint.

The Mud Puddle. I love this thing. 2 1/2 hours of endless contentment. Two different days. So wonderful. And what kids shouldn't get a chance to play in the mud like this!? Love it.

Wheat Pictures! The kids did take a combine ride with Papa but Lorelei was not a fan whatsoever (height issues I believe) but glad they got a chance to see it.

Just as we have been blessed with amazing family, I am also amazed daily at the support we have from our friends. I have the BEST friends. Hands down. From the east coast, to Texas, Minnesota to Nebraska...and technically as far as Japan! :) I can't even describe how it makes me feel to have these kinds of friends in my life. Warm and fuzzy inside. No matter how many challenges we may have to go through in this life, it is such a relief to have their support. And now, I had a wonderful week and saw so many friends from so many places I can't even believe it. So here we go...Top left clockwise, Luke (temporarily living in Japan) who I have known since maybe age five? I was happy we happened to catch he and his wife in OK for a visit this summer. He has the same energy as my kids and he kept them very well entertained and they wore him out. :) One of these days I'm going to put them to bed before he comes so we actually get to chat other than in-between leg-lifts. :) We spent a fun night at Aunt Heather's place on the way to Dallas. Another fun but unusual visit was seeing the Bonfiglios in Texas! :) I loved having a chance for Melissa to see Lorelei as she was younger than Makin the last time she saw her. We had a fun, though toasty, time walking around a small nature preserve and playing at a playground before they few back to Virginia. We enjoyed a play date with Kaitlyn and Hailey where they played lots of dress up. As usual, these girls can play for hours happily together and it just amazes me. :) We spent the night with the Armstrongs so caught a pic of the kiddos having supper together. This also gave us a chance to check out their new house! These four always play so well and have endless amounts of fun.

The next morning was spent with the Hughes family. The girls even enjoyed a dip in the pool, although Makin opted for the sandbox instead. I can't even think about how much we are going to miss seeing our Texas friends each week.

And we got to see another new house! The Rogers family was generous enough to let us stay at their brand new home on the way back. I'm pretty sure they hadn't even been moved in a full week! :) Loved seeing Sydney in her new spacious place and so happy for them. :)
The kids especially loved the swing set and puppy. :)

More fun at Nana and Papa's house. The kids have loved the bug catcher. The latest favorite find was a grasshopper. We also had to try out the pinterest idea of using cups to blow bubbles. Nana and Mom had more fun than the kids I think! :) Nana also brought some wonderful wooden toys from school that they have loved playing with.

  1. What lucky kids to be surrounded by so much love and fun (that mud puddle is the best)! And you have such good friends because you're such a good friend yourself.
