Lorelei's 7th Birthday

We had a great time celebrating our girl turning 7!

Breakfast was different from previous years. Because of our Mother's Day tradition, the kids requested cinnamon rolls in bed for their birthdays this year. I missed the Mickey pancakes, but loved seeing how special they felt. This year was also the year of new bikes. Both kids outgrew their bikes, and then the bikes also didn't fit into the moving truck. (Who wants to ride bikes in 102 degree temps anyway!?) So, they just got a couple of small gifts and then had a scavenger hunt for their bike.

Brad had to travel the week of Lorelei's birthday. He had been practicing "Happy Birthday" on his guitar, so he recorded it for her to watch that morning. He also got to face time during her scavenger hunt.

We had to get our home-school work done. Then it was time to frost the cake. Lorelei drew a picture several months ago of how she wanted her cake to look. She had a lot of fun making her picture into a real cake. She even got to do the grass herself! I loved having a stress-free cake because it was just us enjoying it! (Side note: I tried to talk her into getting dressed for her big day. "No, I want to have a pajama day and then change right into swimsuits.")

We enjoyed our cake for afternoon snack.

And then headed for the lake...and I forgot my camera.
The kids had lots of fun in the sand and water!

Loved celebrating our girl in all the ways she wanted to make her day extra-special!
