Highlights From The Last 6 Days

Father/Daughter time at Home Depot Workshop...and my favorite project so far! Can't wait to hang it up!

Our after-bath superhero time.

Kids being bums on the air mattress while grown ups get ready for our visitor.

A trip to Little Elm Library (yay only 15 minute drive!) to see Critterman! He brought some animals to the library (only two of which Mom really cared to see...the rest were slithery and creepy crawly) for us to learn about. He was humorous and educational. And boy was it a PACKED library. BOTH kids touched (Lorelei petted, Makin poked) a Burmese python. I did get a picture of Critterman holding it, but decided to spare Melissa the shuddering factor. ;) (Although I know she is shuddering just reading about it!)

A visit to the Hughes house. I got to cuddle three weekish baby Kyle and the kids got to play. Makin had the train tracks out within 30 seconds of our arrival and that was a big hit for all of them. :)

When we got home...it was raining! So, out we went! :) The temperature drop (although the high for the day was still 95) was so nice after our heat wave, so we had to enjoy it as long as we could before nap. The kids just loved being outside, and it reminded me why they have been a bit wild after being cooped up for a month or two now. They loved swinging in the rain. After a full month of no swinging, it was extra fun. :)

And thinking ahead for car trips, I got on a file folders kick last week. This meant we needed to head to Mardels for laminating on Thursday. The kids loved the train table there and played "ok" while I laminated. :) Now for more cutting and figuring out an envelope on the back! :)

  1. I love your adorable superheros! And what fun times playing outside. Here's to hoping that fall and your pumpkin spice latte's come very soon. :-) And . . . you are a very good friend for not posting any snake pics. I think I saw a FB status update a few days ago (or maybe something on this blog?) about you guys going to see Critterman at the library and I've been very carefully scanning your blog since then. :-)
