Last Day Of School for 2nd and 4th

I know I say it every year but...wow! Growing up so fast!

So, we are really not fans of the "everybody gets a trophy" mentality. The school still seems to be tweaking what they will do with their awards system as they want to recognize students who have given the extra effort. The last several years they have given out 1-2 awards per class. This year they changed the stipulation to only giving a few special awards to the 4th and 5th graders. This time they gave out four awards to 4th graders and five to fifth. We were excited that Lorelei received one of these awards, although I wish I would have jotted down what the award is actually saying about the recipient? :) Either way, proud of our girl!

The teachers gave out awards in class to each student as well.

Makin was not thrilled to hear they were not giving an award to his class.
He has received a leadership award the last two years and did not like the thought of breaking that trend, so he was glad he at least received one in his class awards.

This year we also had a field trip to The Star following the chapel awards, but I'm going to add that to another post.
