More Moments in May

Braids and Butterflies
The day of the Spring Musical we met up with the Denmans after rehearsal so that the girls could get their hair braided for the performance. While at the mall we discovered a temporary butterfly house. The kids had such a great time spending time with the butterflies. It turned out to be the perfect distraction on a day Lorelei might have had plenty of nerves about her solo.

Lake Time
We didn't fit in a lot of lake time this spring and have had so much rain they had to shut down the beach area for a time. The kids loved it the day we did fit in a trip!

Mother's Day
We didn't do much for Mother's Day this year, but I didn't have to cook and we took this picture! :) No, Lorelei isn't quite taller than me yet, although she looks it in this picture...

Strawberry Picking
We loved heading out to pick strawberries again this year and were so glad friends could join us.

The Star Tour
There were big plans for a field trip to The Star (The Dallas Cowboy's training facility) that involved some activities led by either a retired player or a coach, but those got canceled due to problems (by The Star) so only a small group of us stuck with going on the tour on the last day of school. We really enjoyed it and as the guide pointed out "the players are here almost every day, they are only at AT&T stadium 10 times a year."

We took a quick picture in front but didn't get to play afterward as they were setting up for an event.
No, we didn't get to see the longest line of cookies, but wish we would have!

Makin loved getting to hold a helmet.

Checking out the practice field.

Loved hearing some of the Cowboys history.
This showed us the names they were debating between when deciding on a name for the team.
One of my favorites was the story of how they got the term "throwing a Hail Mary" and loved how they put the first "Hail Mary pass" into artwork going up the stairs.

We saw the progression of the uniforms throughout the years.

We had to go see the team huddle sculpture made of foil.

Their own huddle.
