Spring Musical, Hula and Drums Recital

You know it is that time of year! So many spring events to finish out the school year and it has had us SO busy.

Spring Musical
Every year I wonder how we can possibly like the next musical as much as the one we just did...but somehow they manage to keep finding these gems and we all just love the songs and lines! I love that they each get a chance to be in this type of production each year.

Lorelei tried out for a solo and got a small one. I was especially proud of her because she tried out for a solo for the fall concert and didn't get one and was pretty frustrated and disappointed. I was so glad she didn't let it deter her from trying again! She did a short rap song. (I mean, when you think of Lorelei don't you always think she would make a good rapper?! ;) )

A few shots from the performance...

First Solo!

Lorelei helped make The Red Sea.
Both kids marched around Jericho.

Makin...far right...doing actions for one of the many songs

Hula and Drums Recital
This one was a real humdinger. This year they broke the performances into two recitals which had us running there 6 out of the 7 days of the week if you include the practices and the performance. Both kids have loved these classes this year and I'm so thankful for this affordable program. As I began looking to find these photos for this post, I discovered that I cannot find the memory card with the pictures. It has been that kind of chaotic few months but I'm still super disappointed as I have not lost a card before this. Hoping it will somehow turn up someday but for now have given up...so very limited pictures for this.

Lorelei, Jaedynn, Riker and Makin have loved our Monday evenings at Illuminate for hula and drums!
This is after the last class so had to snap a pic.

Lorelei did a great job performing! She loves hula and can't wait to continue next year.

Lorelei and Jaedynn. Jaedynn played piano and sang in the choir during the recital.

Makin has a natural talent for keeping the beat and it has been great for him to get a chance to have a class involving music. He is the one with the red drum in this pic.
