The Children's Festival

Today we went to the Children's Festival in Norfolk. Lorelei enjoyed all kinds of things to play with and observe. It did seem a little chaotic trying to find what Lorelei would be interested in with the many booths available, but I think she had a good time. We met up with Melissa, Chase and Kira, since Melissa's husband had to work today. We ended up going in different directions a few times, but at least had some company. This picture has the three kids in front of the entrance...all looking very enthused. ;)

One of the most popular sections would have be "Toddler Town" which was geared for children 4 and under. We tried to visit a lady with a piano as well as one from Little Gym, but Lorelei was surprisingly shy and hesitant to do these activities. She preferred to play with a few toys, especially the balls. She even got to try out making a basket! As you can see in the picture, the rain clouds were rolling in, so we made a beeline for The Nauticus museum's big deck to wait out a huge downpour. The kids enjoyed a late snack and saw a few fish too. It didn't last too long and we went back out to see the rest of the festival. We made sure to get quick ride on the small train, just in case it started raining again. Then we were able to dig for treasure in some hay and meet Curious George (Lorelei scared again) as well as play with doll houses, a bouncy horse (one of her favs), play dough, and Lego's before calling it a day.

Tonight we made my Grandma's semi-famous pizza burgers for supper! This was Lorelei's first time trying them and it was a huge hit. Had to take a picture (will have to be mailed...need to get her a computer!) for her and the rest of the fam. She ate 1 1/2 pizza burgers, which are English muffins in half. Yum Yum!
