July Fourth Festivities

We got a chance to see family friends the evening of the fourth. The Knops and the Voths joined us for supper (With tons of lemonade and fancy festive straws to drink it with, one of my favorite parts. Makin and Lor's fav part was probably the home-made ice cream. Makin ate TONS of it. But no, not going to start making it myself in order to get him to eat more ice cream. ;) Oh. Mom also watched the kids so that us "young ones" could play a game of bocce ball. Sorry this is such a long parenthesis statement. ;) ) followed by a trip to Guymon for the fireworks. We were excited to see Luke and Annette as they were home from Japan again this summer. And Luke is one of few people who will attempt to keep up with Miss Lorelei. :) Gotta love their energy! :)

We were a good distance away from the "booms!" we had told the kids about, so there was no problem with the fire works. They loved seeing them. We did have some people setting them off in the parking lot right above our heads...so that did get Makin a bit nervous. Lorelei even tried a sparkler! :)

Makin crashed as we were standing around visiting and Lorelei fell asleep in the car on the way home. Such troopers!
