Lorelei's First Day Of School

Lorelei was SO excited for her first day of preschool. I asked how she was feeling several times the day before and morning of, and "excited" was pretty much the only answer. She did get a tiny bit shy as we were walking in, but as soon as her teacher came out and welcomed her into the classroom she gave us hugs and then went in with no trouble and got busy getting to the table for coloring.

When we picked her up (and Brad was able to be there to pick her up after working Monday instead) and she had a glowing report. The teachers were "great" and she had a lot of fun. Her favorite part was playing outside (of course) and when I asked about snack she said, "We had water, without lids!" :)

The teacher's were very positive as well and said she had a great day and was very friendly. And not surprisingly, she made a new friend at nap and they were visiting instead of sleeping. ;) (Did not seem to be loud and in trouble though. And amazingly enough she did get a little cat nap at the very end of nap!) She said "I won't put them together next time." He he he. I told her she will probably have that trouble anywhere she puts her! :) This is exactly what I predicted we would have trouble with with Miss Lorelei! She will make friends with anybody she is near! They also said they couldn't believe how good she did running around and playing with the kids even though she did not know anybody. (Many of the kids know each other as they had class together last year.) They also send home daily reports, which I love, to tell us about the day in case we don't get to visit with them at pick up. Love!

And we celebrated her big day with a family supper at Red Robin! (And yay for it being a Tuesday when kids eat for $1!) She even got a special treat of a strawberry shake. :) So proud of our girl.

  2. Yay! I had no doubt at all that she'd do great and that she's absolutely love it. Love that you found such a great preschool.
