# 17 - Christmas Eve Soups...a little early

It is a tradition for both of our families to make soup for Christmas Eve...as a child, usually we frantically ate before running to get dressed up for church. :) But Mom always made a point to make the traditional soup (she grew up with this too) and also put it in the fancy china dishes so that it was special. Well, I got a set of four not-so-fancy-but-fancier-than-what-we-usually-have dishes for Christmas so had to use those tonight...now you are wondering why I am doing all of this when it is not even Christmas Eve!

Well, although Brad and I both grew up with the same soup tradition...we did not grow up eating the same soup! Last year we did both of the soups for Christmas Eve and realized that was just ridiculous. This year we are having brisket for Christmas so thought Brad's family soup would be best for Christmas Eve since it is chicken noodle. Not to mention his mom will be here to make it for us! (Raw chicken grosses me out, so very thankful for this.) Anyway, the tradition continues each year but we are just going to spread out when we have the soups. We made my family's "Christmas Eve Chili" tonight before heading to Hunt Club Farm (post coming tomorrow). In the pictures you can see the process and how many dirty pots and pans I get! :) Its a bit on the "chunky" side compared to mom's, but still good nonetheless. :) Yum yum!
