25 Days of Christmas

Well I am stealing the title from ABC family who has the 25 days of Christmas movies all month long. I thought to really get in the spirit I would have one thing we love about Christmas or are doing this Christmas each day of the month! Thought this would also help Lorelei see the traditions we have had since she was little, when she looks back on this years from now. I know you blog junkies will just love having one new thing to read each day. :) Can't guarantee it will always be too exciting, but figure I'll give it a shot anyway.

Today I'm going with decorations. I usually put up our Christmas decorations the day after Thanksgiving, or as soon as possible after. This year I got everything but the tree up, and the tree was the next day. Have to work during nap time of course. :) The first day the decorations were up Lorelei woke up from nap, wandered out to the rest of the apt and came to a halt at the first decoration she saw. :) She continued to point and explore to find all of the new things out in her house. This girl is very observant and notices any changes right away, so it was a lot to take in at once.

We are very surprised she has done a good job of leaving everything alone. We just continue to tell her "no touch" but the Christmas tree is really the only thing she even bothers and seems to be getting used to that as well. Yay! We also have a small tree in her room with soft ornaments she can enjoy and play with all she wants. It is next to her crib so last night I found the star from the top of the tree in the crib with her!

Here are a few of the ornaments we have gotten recently on our tips. The starfish is just one to remind us of our time here at Virginia Beach. We are very big on collecting ornaments all year round. We try to get one from every trip we take. We have many from our childhood and all through the years on our tree. Lorelei is getting her own collection started as well. It is a great way to save some memories and so much fun when putting the tree up.
