Stahl Family Day Of Fun

And if anybody is a Friends fan...maybe you will read the title the way I intended... :) And for the rest of you...it still works! :)

Reasons for a day of fun: Brad has been working overtime to get a work project done, beautiful weather, attempting this balance of working but having fun too

With a high of 82 in the forecast we decided Thursday was the perfect day to get in looooots of fun outside and park time. Plus, we are aiming for a weekly lunch picnic as long as the weather cooperates. The trick this time was getting the entire lunch packed, kids fed and dressed and out the door in order to get Brad dropped off in time for work as we were staying on his side of the bridge until after lunch.

The kids and I then went to the first park and did lots of exploring. We also attempted to feed the ducks, but really mostly just fed the seagulls. The kids were very excited that there was a man fishing on the pier. In usual Lorelei fashion she bombarded him with questions. He was in complete shock when she asked to see his worms, pet his fish, and see his other little fish he had swimming around. He said his wife would never do that. :) We also saw some fun sights like blooming trees and diggers in action!

Then we picked up Brad and headed to our second playground of the day. They loved walking out in a field nearby and picking dandelions. This is looking like a great place to fly kites sometime!

Then home, show to wind down, followed by nap. Very late nap since Lorelei talked to herself in her room for about an hour...but it gave Makin a chance to catch a few extra zzzs as well. So by the time they were up it was time to head out to pick up Brad and head to...Red Robin!

Three Reasons to celebrate at Red Robin
1) Brad completing huge project at work that has the head honcho at his office all excited
2) My moms birthday (if only she got to go with us!)
3) Both kids half birthdays coming up in the next week. Half birthday celebrations might become a thing at our house now. :)

As always we had a great time. Of course, Lorelei couldn't go with out her carrots and ranch. :) Makin kept eating the fries and saying "Ummmm" (yum) and then was elated that he could watch a basketball game. He kept saying "ba ba" and even cheered once or twice. (Notice we could not get him to look for the picture with me because he is too busy watching it...such a boy!) He also loved people-watching.

Ok so then we were on some kind of super-fun-day overload and decided they needed a treat. Ice cream bars on the back patio. (Lorelei's request.) The second half of Lorelei's ice cream bar (do you know how long it takes a three year old to polish off an entire ice cream bar???) we sat in the grass and had fun checking out the moon and the stars. This also started a GREAT family fun idea coming up...Meteor Shower! Lorelei was hoping she would see a shooting star, so naturally I said I would look up when we could watch and probably see one. April 21 according to a few sources online. If you are interested. :)

Great end to a fun day!
